Travel Team Information
Thank you for your interest in joining our youth basketball travel teams. Be sure to register for the 3rd-8th grade tryout held at Carson Middle School starting March 2nd.
Competitive travel teams will be created based on tryout results. If your child makes a team, you will be sent a registration and payment link. Pricing is listed to your right for both tournament players and practice players.
Tournaments are mostly local (Reno, Tahoe area) with one trip to the Hardwood Palace in Rocklin, CA for our 6th grade and older teams. Tournament schedules may change if a tournament site is unable to get enough teams, or has to change things for any other reason. We will communicate any scheduling adjustments to you as quickly as possible.
Please note that the price does not change if you miss a tournament. Pricing is set to make it as affordable as possible for everyone to play while covering tournament entry fees, gym rental, gear, uniforms, etc.
Practice schedules are based on gym availability, coach schedules, and factoring in other sports that our multi-sport athletes are participating in. If you are aware of any scheduling concerns impacting multiple players or age groups (i.e. Little League conflict) please let us know.
Competitive travel basketball is different than recreation basketball. Playing time is earned through attitude, hustle, practice attendance, practice effort and habits, ability, etc. Playing time won’t be evenly distributed but teams are kept small enough to allow opportunity for all.
Coaches are volunteers with ties to the local youth basketball community including Carson Middle School, Eagle Valley Middle School, and Carson High School. Please respect your coach and contribute to a positive team environment for our youth to build their skillset as players while learning lifelong lessons in character, competitive spirit, resilience, and teamwork.
Families are also encouraged to embrace the teamwork concept as we help each other with rides to practices & tournaments and support each other’s children. Success is not mutually exclusive; We all represent Carson City and our community.
Thank you!
